Weight Module Functions and Benefits
The weighing module is commonly used in the batching system of production workshops, for weighing material storage and silos. Anyone who has been exposed to the weighing system knows that the weighing process primarily involves the weighing sensor, which is connected to a fixed bracket on one end and the object being weighed on the other. The deformation of the sensor generates a weight signal, which is then converted into a digital weight reading.
The structural requirements during the installation of sensors are also critical; installation errors or an unreasonable structure can directly lead to inaccurate weighing data, overloading, and even direct damage to the sensors. Therefore, many of our sensors are designed with corresponding weighing modules based on the structure and dimensions of our own sensors. The sensors are installed within these modules, providing great convenience during the installation process by equipment suppliers or manufacturers. Simply pre-drill screw holes between the material tank and the fixed support according to the holes on the top and bottom plates of the module, and securely fasten the module to complete the sensor installation. Only a simple adjustment of the horizontal position is needed. This is much more convenient than designing and installing a structure without a module, and it's also much simpler to replace the sensors or modules later on.
The system, with an additional weighing module installed, ensures both high precision of the weighing sensor and long-term stability, while also addressing weighing errors caused by improper installation.
Equipment using the weighing module typically achieves a weight measurement accuracy better than 0.005%.
For example, the Mulmount SW5 SS series weighing module by Mettler-Toledo can be used for both static and dynamic load weighing. It is compatible with sensors such as MTB SBC SLB415 0745A. Materials available include stainless steel and alloy steel, and horizontal tension rods can be optionally selected based on static or dynamic load requirements.

The weighing module is a new type of weighing component that combines a weighing sensor, load transfer device, and installation connectors into one unit. It can be conveniently connected to various mechanical devices of different shapes, such as conveyors, platforms, vertical tanks, hoppers, and bins. Systems equipped with the weighing module ensure high precision and long-term stability of the weighing sensor while also resolving weighing errors caused by improper installation. Equipment using the weighing module typically achieves measurement accuracy better than 0.005%. Made of stainless steel, it effectively resists corrosion. Available in fixed, floating, and semi-floating structures, it can be used under various harsh conditions. In the installation method using four dynamic load modules, generally, two modules are restricted on three sides, while the other two modules are only restricted at the ends.
Based on the weight module's characteristics under actual application, there are two types of weight modules: static load weight modules and dynamic load weight modules. Static load weight modules are suitable for situations where only vertical forces act, such as weight detection for reactors, tanks, and hopper. Dynamic load modules are suitable for scenarios with more pronounced forces, such as weight detection for platforms, lines, and conveyors.
Alarm and Setpoint Control
Alarming prompts can conveniently indicate issues during the automatic weighing process. Users can set up alarming functions in the process programming, such as weight alarm, under-weight alarm, and can also configure different actions to be executed after an alarm.
