COD Remover is a chemical agent that requires addition to a wastewater treatment process in a reasonable manner before use.
COD Remover's Main Ingredient
COD Remover for Sewage Treatment, also known as a Shielding Agent or Masking Agent in the industry, primarily contains highly oxidized chlorine, mainly NaClO3, which is a strongly oxidizing chemical. It typically appears as a white or slightly yellow powdered crystal. Under normal temperature, NaClO3 does not react with COD; it only serves as an oxidizing agent for COD during the measurement, under acidic conditions and high-temperature digestion. The purpose of the COD Remover is to interfere with COD measurements, merely masking the COD, without actually removing the true COD in the water.
How to Use COD Remover
Directly add PCOD during use, or first add it to the dissolution tank at a concentration of 10-20%, stir, and then pump it into the reaction tank, recycle tank, or discharge point.
Broad pH range applicable (3-11), usage approximately 200-1000 ppm (or 0.2-1 kg/ton of wastewater), varying with the concentration of non-degradable COD in the wastewater (i.e., the COD content at the current treatment discharge), with the specific amount typically determined through experimentation.
During the experiment, take a certain amount of wastewater (such as return pool water, effluent water), add an appropriate amount of PCOD, stir for 15 seconds, measure the COD value, and determine the dosage.
Fast reaction speed, allowing direct addition at the discharge point.
Dosage Unit Conversion: 200ppm = 200mg/L = 0.2g/L = 0.2‰ = 0.2kg/ton of wastewater.
COD Remover is corrosive; wastewater treatment operators must take protective measures, wearing face shields and corrosion-resistant gloves. Add as per regulations during operation, and prohibit use with strong acids and bases simultaneously.
