COD Remover is a chemical agent that requires addition to a wastewater treatment process in a reasonable manner before it can be used.
COD Remover Main Ingredient
COD Remover for Sewage Treatment, also known as a屏蔽剂 (screening agent) or 掩蔽剂 (masking agent), primarily contains highly oxidized chlorine, mainly NaClO3, which is a strongly oxidizing chemical, typically in the form of white or slightly yellow crystalline powder. Under normal temperatures, NaClO3 does not react with COD; it only plays an oxidizing role in the measurement of COD when it is subjected to high-temperature digestion under acidic conditions. The purpose of the COD Remover is to interfere with the COD measurement, masking the COD, but it does not actually remove the true COD from the water.
How to Use COD Remover
Directly add PCOD during use, or first add it to the dissolution tank at a concentration of 10-20%, stir, and then pump it into the reaction tank, recycle tank, or discharge point.
Wide pH range applicable (3-11), dosage approximately 200-1000 ppm (or 0.2-1 kg/ton of wastewater), varying with the content of refractory COD in the wastewater (i.e., the COD content at the current treated effluent outlet), with the specific dosage usually determined by experiment.
During the experiment, take a certain amount of wastewater (such as recycle pool water, effluent water), add an appropriate amount of PCOD, stir for 15 seconds, measure the COD value, and determine the dosage.
Fast reaction speed, allowing direct addition at the discharge outlet.
Dosage Unit Conversion: 200ppm = 200mg/L = 0.2g/L = 0.2‰ = 0.2kg/ton of wastewater.
COD Remover is corrosive. Operators must take proper protective measures, including wearing protective face shields and corrosion-resistant gloves. It should be added according to regulations and must not be used simultaneously with strong acids or bases.
