Tie-down fixtures used during the tensile machine process to secure the workpiece in the correct position for processing or inspection, also known as clamps. Broadly speaking, any device used in the manufacturing process to quickly, conveniently, and safely install workpieces can be called a fixture. Examples include welding fixtures, inspection fixtures, assembly fixtures, and machine tool fixtures. Machine tool fixtures are particularly common and are often simply referred to as fixtures.
