Chrome alum sliding brick is primarily made from white alumina and brown alumina, with the addition of green chrome oxide and electric fused chrome oxide. After mixing in specific proportions, it is molded under pressure or cast, then fired in a high-temperature crucible furnace. This refractory material boasts high耐火 resistance and good wear resistance, mainly used in the sliding tracks and steel discharge platforms of rolling mill heating furnaces, as well as in steel discharge troughs—areas prone to wear. It is an upgraded product over traditional water-cooled sliding tracks and cast iron sliding tracks. Due to varying kiln sizes and production capacities among manufacturers, the models and dimensions of sliding bricks are not standardized.
