How to effectively waterproof steel structure factory buildings has been a common issue we've encountered over the years while providing waterproofing and leak repair services for Chengdu's steel structures. Many factories are actually steel structures, so addressing this issue is crucial for factory owners. Below, we'll briefly introduce some knowledge.
1. Ridge tiles are leaking. During the construction of lightweight steel structural roofs, water leakage through ridge tiles is a common occurrence. In rainy weather, especially when there is heavy rainfall, water can easily seep through the gaps at the junction of the lower two color steel plates under the ridge tiles, causing extensive leakage. Waterproof sealant can be used to fill the gaps, applied to the steel structure, compacted and smoothed out.
2. Perform waterproofing on areas such as steel structure roof screws and fasteners, and color steel plate joints. The construction process is as follows: clean the subgrade → apply base treatment waterproofing material → install additional reinforcement layer → apply waterproof coating.
3. Waterproofing construction on steel structure roofs. A single, interconnected waterproofing layer is created using colored steel sheeting. The waterproof membranes are overlapped from top to bottom and left to right. Heat-welded joints are used for laying and overlapping the membranes, leaving a 20 cm gap for easy side-to-side overlap. The waterproof membranes are self-healing; upon piercing or penetration by foreign objects, they automatically bond with these items while maintaining excellent waterproofing properties. They also provide insulation, effectively cooling the area by 5-10 degrees during summer.
