Where can I get ERP label certification for lighting products?

The ErP Directive EC 244/2009, EC 245/2009, EU 1194/2012, and the Energy Label Directive EU 874/2012 have been in effect for many years. The EU has reviewed these directives over the past three years, referencing the continuous improvement of lighting product technology, environmental and economic factors, and actual user behavior. On December 5, 2019, the EU issued the revised ErP Directive EU 2019/2020 and the Energy Label Directive EU 2019/2015.

The new ErP Directive EU 2019/2020 stipulates the eco-design requirements for the following products:

Light Source:

(b) Detachable light source control device

These requirements also apply to light sources and separate light source control devices within composite products sold on the market (e.g., lighting fixtures).

The new Energy Labeling Directive EU 2019/2015 stipulates energy efficiency label requirements for light sources and light sources used within composite products.

The 11th revised ErP Directive EU 2019/2020 and Energy Label Directive EU 2019/2015 came into effect on December 25, 2019, and became mandatory as of September 1, 2021, replacing the old ErP Directive EC 244/2009, EC 245/2009, EU 1194/2012, and the Energy Label Directive EU 874/2012.

Key Differences between the New ErP EU 2019/2020 Directive and the Previous Version:

Scope expanded to include products with lighting such as appliances and furniture.

The calculation of energy efficiency has reverted from EEI index to Ponmax, added factors for color rendering index, and raised the requirements for energy efficiency.

Increase flicker test frequency: SVM, Pst LM;

Increase the power consumption requirements for network standby.

Increased requirements for driver energy conversion efficiency.

Switching cycle test, startup time, and preheating time test have been removed.

Number of Test Samples: Only 10 for the light source, and 3 for the driver.

Durable testing for 3600 hours, with 3000 hours of lighting time, significantly reducing the testing duration while substantially increasing the requirement for luminous flux retention.

Major differences between the new energy label EU 2019/2015 directive and the old directive:

The calculation of energy efficiency rating has changed from EEI index to ηTM (lm/W), making it more intuitive.

The energy efficiency classification is now from Class A to Class G.

Higher energy efficiency requirements, such as the previous Class A++, are now only equivalent to Class E.
