Introduction to FCC ID Certification in the USA

FCC certification comes in two modes: FCC SDoC and FCC ID. The FCC ID is primarily for certifying communication products. For instance, products like mobile phones, laptops, tablets, wireless mice and keyboards with communication functions all require an FCC ID certification.
FCC ID Certification Standards

FCC Part 18: Industrial and Scientific Equipment Products
FCC Part 22: Public Mobile Telecommunications Services Products
FCC Part 24: Personal Communications Service Products
FCC Part 25: Satellite Communication Services Products

FCC ID Certification Fee
FCC ID fees are related to the product and vary depending on the type of communication functions. For wireless products, such as Bluetooth, WIFI, 3G, and 4G, the certification costs differ as well, and are not a fixed fee. Generally, costs start at over $5,000. Additionally, for wireless products, an EMC test is required for FCC certification, and this cost should also be considered.
