Application Fields
Solid Film
Solar cells, displays, food packaging, preservative, antibacterial, anti-reflective coating functionality - MP-SPR assists in maintaining functionality while reducing coating thickness. MP-SPR can both measure interactions and assess the surface plasmonics, thickness, and complex refractive index of ultra-thin metal coatings ranging from 3Å to 100nm.
Soft Materials
MP-SPR measures the interaction between other substances and polymers, which can range from ultra-thin films to 5μm thick films. MP-SPR is the most sensitive unlabelled technique for studying the interaction and characterizing layers of biomaterials. MP-SPR aids in optimizing barrier layers, including: functional moisturizing, pH control, anti-reflective, stain-resistant, and antimicrobial coatings.
Sensor Development
The MP-SPR is adjustable for detecting specific gas or liquid components. It can detect hydrogen on a palladium surface (2Da) or cocaine in saliva. MP-SPR is used for the development of point-of-care (POC) testing and for testing surface treatments of microfluidic materials.
Nano particles
MP-SPR is a good choice for characterizing nanoparticles, be it metals, silicon dioxide, polymers, or other types. Obtain "before and after" images using SEM or AFM. With MP-SPR, observe the dynamics, targeting, release, or internalization of self-assembly in real-time.
Electrochemical
MP-SPR can be coupled with various electrochemical methods, such as potentiometry, amperometry, or impedance spectroscopy. This enables the simultaneous and real-time monitoring of (electro)chemical reactions on the sensor surface without any labels.
Antibody Characterization
Affinity and kinetics of antibody-antigen interactions can be measured in a variety of liquids, including complex ones like sera, urine, or saliva.
Biological Sensor Development
From nanoparticle-based competitive analysis to electrochemical sensors, up to direct analysis methods, MP-SPR displays all steps of the analytical process and can develop biosensors on glass, polymers, silicon dioxide, metal surfaces, or nanoparticles.
Biological Materials
MP-SPR measures interactions on polymers with thickness up to 5μm. MP-SPR is the most sensitive unlabelled technique for studying biological material interactions and characterizing layers. It can optimize: novel coatings for cell and tissue engineering, and new industrial protective coatings.
Technical Specifications
| Measurement Principle | Real-time and unmarked multi-parameter surface plasmon resonance (MP-SPR) is a SPR device based on actual angle measurement, equipped with a rotating laser and detector. Wide angle measurement range: 40° - 78°, true angle resolution: 0.001. |
| Liquid Treatment | The蠕动泵 controls the flow rate of the controlled release liquid, with a flow rate range of 10ul/min to 400ul/min. It features 4 flow channels and a manual sample injector. |
| Sample consumption quantity | Typical sample quantity required: 200μl - 500μl. Sample quantity can be further adjusted by replacing the sample ring. |
| Laser Wavelength | 4 flow channels are all standard wavelength: 670 nm. Each flow channel is equipped with 2 beams of laser (670nm and 785nm) via the additional L-Option. Other wavelengths available upon request. Simultaneous thickness and refractive index measurement is achieved with an additional wavelength. |
| Refraction range | 1.00-1.40 (measuring the environment of the unit), expandable with additional wavelengths. MP-SPR can measure layers with higher refractive indices (RI), such as diamond-like (2.7) and inorganic crystals. MP-SPR can also measure the birefringence of liquid, gas, and solid layers. |
| Medium | A full scan includes two environments: gas and liquid. Measurement is conducted not only in aqueous solutions but also in organic liquids, such as ethanol and acetonitrile. For compatibility with other organic liquids, please inquire with us. PureKinetics™ can correct for differences in running buffer and sample composition, even differences as significant as 5% DMSO! |
| Operation Mode | Angle scan mode, "MP-SPR mode": Scans a series of angles, providing a full SPR curve and multiple parameters. Several sensor spectra can be extracted from the complete SPR curve, such as PureKinetics™. Sample rate depends on the selected angle range and resolution, typically less than 2 seconds. Fixed Angle Mode, "Traditional SPR Mode": Measures at a single angle, providing a time-intensity detection spectrum. Pattern for research of rapid dynamics - sampling rate up to 1 ms. |
| Measurement Range | Thickness: From angstrom to micrometers (specific range depends on the refractive index of the material) Dynamics: ka = 103– 1081/(M*s),kd = 10-7– 0.11/s,KD = 10-12– 10-3M |
| Sensitivity | 1μRIU (refractive index); 1pg/mm2(Protein surface coverage); Smallest detected molecule: in the gas phase, hydrogen (2 Da); in the liquid phase, smallest molecular weight < 100 Da |
| Noise | Short-term noise: 0.3 μRIU, baseline drift (long-term) < 1 μRIU/min |
| Temperature | Temperature Measurement Range: 15℃–45℃ (Room Temperature +20℃/-7℃) |
| Prism | Prisms with matched adhesives enable quick sensor replacement, prevent sample contamination from refractive index matching oil, and allow for further sample analysis by other means. No need for refractive index matching oil or expensive gold-plated prisms. |
| Flow pool | Easily replace the flow tank with a single release button. Standard Flow Cell: PDMS material, each channel volume 1 μl. Optional Flow Cells: SPR305-MS, larger diameter and high chemical resistance PEEK flow cell; SPR321-EC, electrochemical flow cell; SPR310-GS: Gas Flow Cell; SPR302-LS: For rapid kinetics research; or customized flow cells upon request. |
| Sensor/Substrate | Offer a wide range of surfaces, such as: metals (Au, Ag, Cu, Pt, etc.), other inorganic substances (SiO2, etc.).2,Al2O3,TiO2, etc.) or functionalized surfaces (CMD, Ni, etc.)2+Protein A, Biotin, Strepavidin, disulfides, etc. Chip holder achieves non-in-situ deposition on the sensor surface (e.g., dipping coating). If you can't find the sensor you need, we can provide a custom one upon request. |
| Software | Unlimited MP-SPR Navi™ Control and DataViewer software. Easily export data to Excel or utilize our proprietary analysis tools. Optional LayerSolver™ fitting tool for layer characterization and/or TraceDrawer™ software for dynamic analysis |
