Insulating flanges are a general term for pipe flange joints that meet both the sealing requirements of buried steel pipelines and the electrical insulation requirements of electrochemical corrosion protection projects. They include a pair of steel flanges, an insulating seal between the flanges, flange fasteners, insulating components for the fasteners, and a pair of steel short pipes that are separately welded to each flange. Insulating flanges, along with insulating joints, are products produced for the oil, chemical, and other industries. They feature a simple structure, safe use, reliable performance, and have received widespread positive feedback from customers. The insulating flange products have formed a series, and can be designed and manufactured separately according to customer requirements in special cases. Insulating flanges are mainly applied in gas transmission and distribution pipelines, as well as in equipment for gas regulation, metering, storage, and the like. Their primary function is to electrically insulate and isolate different sections of gas transmission and distribution pipelines and between equipment and pipelines, protecting them from chemical corrosion and extending the service life of the pipelines and equipment. The products comply with the technical specification standard for insulating flange design, SY/T0516-1997. This product is divided into two types based on the difference in the insulating seal: the pressure-sealed type insulating flange (abbreviated as Type I insulating flange) and the self-sealed type insulating flange (abbreviated as Type II insulating flange).
