PowderMetallurgyIntroduction to Process and Products
Powder metallurgy products are refined from metal powders such as iron, copper, and stainless steel powders, through the sintering process of shaping and sintering. The traditional production process includes mixing powders, pressing, sintering, finishing, and post-processing (such as oil immersion, packaging, machining, etc.). This involves first loading the high-purity mixed powder into a mold and shaping it under pressure, followed by sintering the green compact in a controlled atmosphere furnace at a temperature below the melting point of the base material to form metallurgical bonds between the powder particles.
