PowderMetallurgyIntroduction to Technology and Products
Powder metallurgy products are precision-finished using metal powders such as iron, copper, and stainless steel powders, through the shaping-sintering process. The traditional process involves mixing the powders, pressing them into shape, sintering, finishing, and post-processing (such as oil immersion, packaging, and machining). This means first loading the high-purity mixed powder into a mold and forming it under pressure. The formed preforms are then sintered in a controlled atmosphere furnace at temperatures below the melting point of the base material, resulting in metallurgical bonding between the powder particles.
