The gabion baskets are mechanically woven from high-corrosion-resistant, high-tensile, and ductile low-carbon steel wire, or the above-mentioned wire coated with PVC. The box-like structures made from this mesh are known as gabion mesh baskets. The diameter of the low-carbon steel wire used varies according to engineering design requirements, generally ranging from 2.0 to 4.0mm, in accordance with ASTM and EN standards. The tensile strength of the gabion mesh wire should not be less than 38kg/m², the weight of the metal coating is usually higher than 245g/m², and the diameter of the edge line of the gabion mesh sheet should generally be larger than that of the mesh wire. The length of the double-strand twisted portion must not be less than 50mm to ensure that the metal and PVC coatings on the twisted wire are not damaged.

(2) Wire Diameter: The stone笼 net is divided into three types of wire diameters – mesh wire, edge wire, and binding wire.

The wire mesh range is from 2mm to 4mm.

Surface Treatment

Electro galvanized. Zinc coating is 10g/m². Poor corrosion resistance.

2. Hot galvanized. Zinc coating can reach up to 300g/m². Strong corrosion resistance.

3. Galfan (Zn-Al alloy). This is available in two materials: zinc-5% aluminum-mixed rare earth alloy wire and zinc-10% aluminum-mixed rare earth alloy wire.

4. PVC Coated. The coating thickness is generally 1.0mm, for instance: after coating a 2.7mm material, it becomes 3.7mm. Strong corrosion resistance.
