The selection of a silencer should be based on a comprehensive consideration of factors such as fire prevention, moisture resistance, corrosion resistance, cleanliness requirements, the installation location, the noise source frequency spectrum characteristics, the natural attenuation of the system, the regenerative noise of the air flow in the system, the permissible noise level of the room, allowable pressure loss, and equipment cost, with emphasis on actual conditions. Generally speaking, the larger the noise reduction of the silencer, the greater the pressure loss and price; if the pressure loss is smaller when the noise reduction is the same, the silencer will occupy a larger space.
