Dendrobium flowers, when infused in water, can help nourish yin, moisten the throat, and cool the body. Dendrobium infusion is suitable for symptoms such as heat-induced fluid loss, dry mouth, post-illness yin deficiency, persistent low-grade fever, night heat and early morning chill, insufficient stomach yin, thin coating on the tongue, and rapid, thin pulse. It is often used in combination with raw rehmannia, ophiopogon, trigonella, asparagus, polygonatum, and lily. However, its sweet and cold nature can help retain pathogenic factors and promote dampness. Therefore, it should not be used for conditions with dampness and heat that have not yet dried up, nor for those with warm and damp diseases, especially as a strict禁忌.
