Gisela 6 is currently the most widely used rootstock in the Jisela series, characterized by early fruiting and high yield; it also exhibits excellent resistance to adverse conditions, diseases, and soil adaptability, with good grafting compatibility.
Gisela 6 rootstock exhibits significant dwarfing effects, making the tree bodies extremely easy to manage; the dwarfed trees can significantly save on labor and materials.
Gisela 6 dwarfing rootstock bears fruit early and has excellent fruiting capacity. It starts bearing fruit within 3 years after planting, with yields of over 800 pounds per acre. It is highly resistant to cold and can withstand low temperatures during winter. Gisela 6 has average tolerance to waterlogging, so precautions against flooding should be taken during heavy rain. Large cherry varieties with strong tree vigor are particularly well-suited for grafting with Gisela 6, as they have good grafting compatibility.
