The Iron and Manganese Water Treatment Equipment is a device for removing iron from groundwater, suitable for raw water with high iron and manganese content. The method involves using a jet air pump or compressed air to aerate the water, which then reacts with manganese sand inside the tank to remove iron, thereby avoiding the hazards of iron-containing water in both domestic and industrial production.

Iron (manganese) in groundwater begins to oxidize after aeration or addition of an oxidizing agent, leading to precipitation and removal of iron (manganese) ions as the water flows through a manganese sand filter layer. This process involves contact oxidation reactions within the filter bed, biochemical and physical adsorption on the filter media surface, and the biological activity of iron bacteria. These bacteria can remove iron and manganese while utilizing ammonia in the water as a nutrient source for metabolism. With the participation of other bacteria, ammonia nitrogen is also removed simultaneously.
