Reduce the radial gap of the wind turbine blades
(1) A partial shell replacement has been implemented to prevent deformation of the cylinder adjacent to the moving blades due to collision and vibration. The shell is divided into two sections at this point, a 30mm thick ring is machined, and it is then zinc-plated for corrosion resistance. This ring connects the two sections of the shell together. This modification is cost-effective and can prevent shell deformation.
(2) For fans with large radial gaps and small shell deformation, increasing the blade length can be used to reduce the gap and improve the volumetric efficiency of the fan.
For larger elliptical or locally oversized fan casings, the method of repairing the inner casing wall can be employed. Mix talcum powder with epoxy resin to form a paste, then add dibutyl phthalate and ethylenediamine, ensuring thorough mixing. Prior to application, the inner casing wall should be rust-free. Although this method does not completely solve deformation by achieving even gap filling, it is simple to operate, cost-effective, and has practical value.
