What are the load standards for balcony railings?
1. Mechanical properties should comply with the specifications in the following table: Horizontal load (N/m), Vertical load (N/m), Soft heavy object impact performance - 500 (residential), 1000 (public buildings), 500-2000. The deflection deformation of the crossbar should not exceed 1/120 of the crossbar length, and all structural components should remain undamaged. There should be no detachment, fracture, or deformation that affects use.
2. Balcony railing height: Should not be less than 1.05m for ground floor, multi-story residential buildings, or structures below 24m; not less than 1.1m for mid-rise, high-rise, or structures above 24m; and ideally not less than 1.20m for high-rise residential buildings. For kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, and children's activity areas, the protective railing height of balconies and rooftop platforms should not be less than 1.20m.
