Insulation materials for exterior walls are categorized according to fire rating levels.
Insulation materials with an A-grade flame retardant performance: rock wool, glass wool, foamed glass, foamed ceramic, expanded cement, closed-cell perlite, etc.
2. Insulation materials with B1 flammability rating: processed extruded polystyrene (XPS), processed polyurethane (PU), phenolic, and powder-poly苯 particles, etc.
3. Insulation materials with B2 flame retardancy: expanded polystyrene (EPS), extruded polystyrene (XPS), polyurethane (PU), polyethylene (PE), etc.
The exterior thermal insulation system of the building shall not use insulation materials with a combustion performance grade lower than B2 when the fire resistance limit of the roof panel is not 1.00h. When the fire resistance limit of the roof panel is 1.00h, the combustion performance grade should not be lower than B1. For exterior thermal insulation systems using B1 or B2 grade insulation materials, an intumescent layer made of non-combustible materials should be applied, with a thickness not less than 10mm.
When both the roof and external wall thermal insulation systems of a building use B1, B2 grade insulation materials, a fire separation strip should be set with a width of not less than 500mm to separate the roof from the external walls.
The standards "Exterior Insulation and Finish System for External Wall with Polymer Filler Bead Polystyrene Particles" JG 158-2004 and "Exterior Insulation and Finish System for External Wall with Extruded Polystyrene Board Thin Coating" JG 149-2003 are in place, but there is also the standard JGJ 144-2004 "Technical Code for External Insulation and Finish System Engineering" which also has requirements for the insulation material's specifications. What criteria should be used for the same material?
The Standard JGJ 144-2004 "Technical Specification for External Insulation of Building Walls" is a basic requirement for the design of external wall insulation engineering, while the standard for见证取样 (witness sampling) is a separate matter.

Compressive strength, bulk density, thermal conductivity, fire rating should be re-tested for each type of thermal insulation material upon arrival.
