Fire-resistant coating thickness measurement for steel structure engineering requires tools: a thickness gauge needle, consisting of a needle shaft and a replaceable disc. The disc remains perpendicular to the needle shaft and is equipped with a fixing device. The diameter of the disc should not exceed 30mm to ensure complete contact with the surface of the part. If the thickness gauge is not suitable for the material, other appropriate tools may be used.

2. Measurement Point Selection

2) Thickness measurement of fire-resistant coating on beams and columns of steel structure buildings, taking a cross-section every 3 meters along the component length
3) Truss structure: Sections are inspected every 3 meters according to Clause *2, with the upper and lower chords, and one section for each web member.
3. Measurement Results
For floors and walls, measure at least 5 points within the selected area. For beams and columns, measure 6 and 8 points respectively at the chosen locations. Calculate the average of these measurements to within 0.5mm.

Structural steel interlayer inspection and appraisal should pay attention to the following points:
1. Basic information of the main structure and the interlayer. The main structure serves as the load-bearing component for the interlayer, and a highly safety-redundant main structure can effectively ensure the safety of the interlayer structure. The main aspects of the interlayer include its later use, loads, connection with the main structure, key column spacing and span, which significantly influence the handling of the interlayer structure.
2. The materials and structural forms used for the interlayer. Generally, it is a combination of steel structures and pressed steel plates, but due to the complexity of actual conditions, the materials may vary. The structural form is typically a frame structure, which may also involve suspended columns, or the presence of existing interlayers being connected to newly constructed ones, bringing about uncertainties related to the connection between old and new interlayers.
3. Key practices for interlayer installation and inspection of various joints. The connection points between the interlayer and the main structure are crucial; one of them is ensuring a solid connection with the main structure, and that the main structure has sufficient stiffness to provide a robust supporting system for the interlayer. The column foot joints of the steel columns in the interlayer are also significant. Subsequently, inspect the internal structure of the interlayer, generally focusing on the welding conditions of the seams or the connection status of the bolts.
4. Conduct qualitative analysis of the interlayer structure and related nodes, with computational analysis as necessary. Conclude the normal operational status of the interlayer and simultaneously analyze any irregularities or potential safety hazards associated with it.
