The sweeper plays a crucial role on the conveyor, efficiently and rapidly removing any residual material stuck on the belt to prevent it from being returned to the return branch. This avoids buildup on the return drum and idlers, which can cause belt wear and misalignment. It also eliminates the risk of injury from manually removing adhered materials. 1. Scraping cleaner

Scraper cleaners utilize the force of gravity from counterweights or the elastic force of the arm to ensure the scraper, fixed to the arm, makes a tight contact with the working surface of the conveyor belt, thereby removing any residual material. They can be categorized by the number of blades as single, double, or multi-blade scrapers. The materials for the blades include rubber, hard alloy, and ceramics.

2. Rotating sweeper

The rotary sweeper consists of a main shaft driven independently and mounted with hard bristles or scraper plates. The hard bristles are made of nylon or similar materials, while the scraper plates are made of rubber or hard alloy.

The rotating sweeper rotates at high speed in the opposite direction to the conveyor belt (the linear speed of the brush or scraper is not less than 10m/s). In addition to directly sweeping the conveyor belt, the brush or scraper forms a low-pressure area in front due to its high rotation speed, thereby enhancing the cleaning effect.

This sweeper is commonly installed at the head and tail roller sections of conveyors to clean powdered or granular materials.
