ATEX or IECEx certificates differ from the domestic explosion-proof certificates (both the domestic explosion-proof certificate and the explosion-proof CCC certificate have a validity period of 5 years).
The certificate does not state an expiration date; does this imply it is indefinitely valid?
ATEX certificates do not have an expiration date. ATEX certification involves a combination of product testing and factory audits.
The validity of the certificate is maintained after each factory audit passes.
If the factory audit isn't conducted on time, the certificate becomes invalid immediately.
If the certification standards are updated and the certificate is not, it will also become invalid.

Can a domestic NEPSI explosion-proof certification be converted to an international IECEx certification?
Domestic explosion-proof certifications cannot be directly converted to IECEx certifications. This is because the domestic explosion-proof certification standards (GB/T3836) are essentially direct references to the international IECEx explosion-proof certification standards (IEC60079). Therefore, having NEPSI certification does not allow for a direct conversion to IECEx certification.

It is mandatory; the certification standards are the EN60079 series.
IECEx certification is an international explosion-proof certification applicable to member countries of the IECEx system. Some member countries directly recognize the IECEx certification.
For instance, New Zealand and Australia; some member states can convert their IECEx certification to local explosion-proof certifications.

But China has its own explosion-proof certification system, which follows the standard GB/T3836.
