The micro-electrolysis reactor technology utilizes the potential difference between iron-carbon particles, forming countless tiny primary batteries. These tiny batteries have the low-potential iron as the negative electrode and the high-potential carbon as the positive electrode, undergoing electrochemical reactions in an acidic electrolyte solution. The result of the reaction is the corrosion of iron, which turns into ferrous ions and enters the solution. Due to the flocculating effect of the iron ions, they are attracted to the slightly negatively charged particles in the pollutants, forming relatively stable flocs (also known as iron sludge) for removal.
