Economic Analysis of Aluminum-Zinc Coated Sheets in Agricultural Facilities
Greenhouses, pigsties, and other agricultural facilities are highly sensitive to material corrosion resistance and cost. Aluminum-zinc coated steel plate reduces the total lifecycle cost through the following advantages: Firstly, it boasts salt雾 resistance equivalent to galvanized steel plate, with a lifespan of over 15 years in coastal or high-humidity areas, reducing maintenance costs associated with frequent replacements; secondly, its lightweight characteristics (3%-5% lighter than galvanized steel plate) lower transportation and installation costs; finally, the high reflectivity surface improves indoor light distribution, promoting crop growth or reducing livestock stress responses. Taking a vegetable greenhouse project in Shandong as an example, the adoption of aluminum-zinc coated steel plate reduced indoor temperature fluctuations, increased crop yield by 10%, and, due to the absence of annual anti-corrosion treatment, the total cost over 10 years was 40% lower than with galvanized steel plate. Currently, aluminum-zinc coated steel plate accounts for 35% of the domestic agricultural facility materials market share.
