Vinyltrimethoxysilane (VTMS), also known as Trimethoxy(methyl)ethene, Trimethoxyvinyl, contains silicon-based and hydroxyl groups and is used to enhance the wetting and superhydrophobic properties of various composites. VTMS can provide superhydrophobic properties to materials such as TiO2, talc, kaolin, magnesium oxide nanoparticles, ammonium, and PEDOT.

Uniform lubricating protective film can be formed on various material surfaces, offering waterproof, oilproof, and dustproof properties. Therefore, it is often used as a surface treatment agent, improving surface properties and enhancing product quality during the processing of materials such as textiles, leather, paper, plastic, and metal.

Surface modification of materials to form a waterproof protective layer, primarily used in surface treatment processes for semiconductors, optoelectronics, new biomaterials, mechanical emulsifiers, rubber adhesives, and chemical ink dispersants.
