Polyester glass fiber fabric is a new type of glass fiber composite crack-resistant material, a composite geosynthetic material made up of 60% glass fiber and 40% polyester fiber. This unique combination offers the strength of glass fiber and the flexibility of polyester fiber without the drawbacks of the raw materials.
Fiberglass-Polyester Paving Mat is a new type of composite geosynthetic material developed after geotextiles, geogrids, and strip polymers, and it has good compatibility with asphalt mixtures. Engineering practice shows that fiberglass grids do not have waterproofing properties; their mesh can form interlocking with asphalt mixtures, but they are difficult to secure during use, tend to expand and not adhere properly, affecting the normal spreading of asphalt mixtures and their reinforcing effects. Geotextiles can prevent water seepage, but when the temperature of the hot asphalt mixture exceeds 160°C, their strength and creep resistance are poor, rendering them ineffective in reinforcing and crack resistance. The Polyester Fiberglass Mat, however, overcomes these shortcomings. It effectively deals with pavement cracks and water damage on bridges and road surfaces.
Characteristics and Advantages: ● Retard Reflective Cracks
Roads without polyester glass fiber cloth will develop reflective cracks within a few months. Polyester glass fiber cloth, with its low elongation and high instantaneous tensile strength, can effectively alleviate stress concentration at the road joints or cracks, reducing the expansion and upward reflection of cracks in the road surface. This can delay the formation of reflective cracks, extend the service life of the road, and significantly reduce the costs of repair and maintenance.
Super waterproof layer provided
Installing a waterproofing layer beneath the hot-mixed asphalt pavement is one of the best methods to protect and extend the lifespan of roads. General materials' crack prevention fabric deforms and damages at high temperatures, whereas polyester fiberglass fabric is made from nonwoven fiberglass/polyester. It can withstand the high temperatures during the modified asphalt concrete construction. This high-temperature stability of the polyester fiberglass fabric will provide a continuous, non-deforming waterproof layer for the pavement, effectively preventing water penetration and avoiding damage to the pavement layers and subgrade caused by water penetration.
