As of June 12, 2023, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) officially launched the Civil Aviation Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Integrated Management Platform (UOM system). The UAV pilot licenses issued by the CAAC are now incorporated into the "Civil Aviation Regulations for Certification of Airman (CCAR-61 Part)" management system, signifying that the authority treats UAV pilots equally with manned aircraft pilots, with the same requirements and management. The CAAC UAV license examination is a legally mandated national examination. Upon passing the exam, the CAAC issues the corresponding level of Civil Aviation UAV Operator Certificate. This certificate is a legally recognized qualification and document for UAV operation in China. Individuals aged 16 or older can directly take the exam, and the license is valid for an extended period.
