Self-regulating electric heating tape
1Overview
Self-regulating electric heating utilizes a conductive polymer material as the heating element. It heats up when powered and can automatically adjust its temperature at various points, maintaining a constant temperature. Compared to parallel single-phase and three-phase electric heating tapes, self-regulating electric heating automatically limits the temperature during heating. It can also automatically adjust the output power according to the temperature changes of the heated system, thereby changing the traditional method where the heated system has to adapt to the heater. Self-regulating electric heating allows for multiple overlapping uses without the risk of overheating or burning.
2、Structural Principles
As shown in the structural diagram: the two parallel copper braid wires serve as the power bus. The central area is uniformly filled with conductive polymer material, which acts as the heating core material. When the power bus is connected to the power source, the current flows horizontally through the heating core material between the two buses, causing the core material to heat up. As the temperature of the core material increases, its resistance automatically increases. When the core material reaches a certain temperature, the resistance becomes so high that it nearly blocks the current, preventing the core material temperature from rising further. At this time, the core material transfers heat to the heated system through the sheath, causing the temperature to drop. When the temperature falls to a certain level, the resistance gradually decreases, and the core material's heating temperature rises again, thus repeating the cycle. This process maintains a constant temperature for the heated system.
