


A biochemical reactor is a time-programmed wastewater treatment facility, primarily used in industries such as chemicals, petrochemicals, electricity, steel, textiles, dyeing, transportation, storage, food brewing, fermentation, water treatment, and seawater desalination.
The biochemical pool removes organic matter and nutrients from wastewater through the biological degradation of microorganisms, with its treatment principle based on the biological degradation of microorganisms. The biochemical pool can be aerobic, anaerobic, or anoxic, with the specific process type depending on the treatment objectives and characteristics of the wastewater. The design of the biochemical pool is relatively simple, mainly consisting of one or more reaction pools, which maintain sludge suspension and provide oxygen to microorganisms through mixing or aeration. Operationally, the biochemical pool adjusts the activity of microorganisms and the treatment effect of the wastewater by controlling the aeration volume and mixing intensity.
The advantage of the biochemical pool lies in the fact that it does not require primary sedimentation, secondary sedimentation, or sludge return systems. It achieves ideal sedimentation and excellent separation. However, the effluent from the biochemical pool typically needs to undergo sedimentation or other solid-liquid separation processes to meet discharge standards. Moreover, it occupies a large area, requiring significant land resources. Despite this, the construction and operation costs of biochemical pools are relatively low, making them suitable for large-scale wastewater treatment needs.
