Diesel generator sets, when in operation, not only produce a large amount of hot gases but also emit a substantial amount of exhaust fumes. The particulate matter in the exhaust, along with carbon deposits from uneven combustion, inevitably pollute the environment. The main method for treating generator exhaust is through water spray or alkaline water spray. Water spray is used when the gas contains only particulate matter and no other components. For exhaust gases like those from generator tailpipes or boiler emissions, alkaline water spray is required.
