Galvanized steel sheets are coated with a layer of metallic zinc to prevent corrosion of the steel surface and extend its service life. These zinc-coated thin steel sheets are known as galvanized sheets and can be categorized into the following types based on production and processing methods: ① Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Sheets. These are thin steel sheets that are immersed in a molten zinc bath, resulting in a thin layer of zinc adhering to the surface. Currently, the continuous galvanizing process is mainly used for production, where rolled steel sheets are continuously immersed in a zinc-coated bath to form galvanized steel sheets; ② Alloy Galvanized Steel Sheets. These sheets are also manufactured using the hot-dip method, but after being dipped out, they are immediately heated to approximately 500°C to form an alloy of zinc and iron coating. These galvanized sheets have good adhesion and weldability with paints; ③ Electro-Galvanized Steel Sheets. These galvanized sheets are produced using the electroplating method, which offers good workability. However, the coating is thinner and has lower corrosion resistance compared to hot-dip galvanized sheets.
