I. Overview of Sawtooth Wave Jig Machine
The toothed wave jig is one of the key equipment in gravity mining. Due to its high processing capacity, wide range of sorting particle sizes, high recovery rate, and good performance, the toothed wave jig is widely used in the sorting of gold sand, tin, tungsten, lead, zinc, antimony, manganese, diamonds, iron ore, and other non-ferrous metal mines as well as on gold mining ships. The JT4-2 and JT1.5-2 models of toothed wave large particle jigs in this category can handle feed particles up to 30MM, utilizing over-and-under screen discharge. They are applied in the beneficiation of barite, manganese ore, iron ore, and other ores, offering advantages such as a wide range of feed particle sizes and significantly reduced water supply under the screen.
Section 2: Principle of Operation for the Sawtooth Wave Jig Machine
Traditional jig machines are often driven by eccentric rotation, with their pulsating curves typically sinusoidal. Due to the similar upward and downward flow velocities and action times generated by the diaphragm movement, it is not conducive to the loosening of the jig bed and the stratification of mineral particles by specific gravity, thereby affecting the separation ratio and recovery rate of the equipment.
The toothed wave jigging machine is a highly energy-efficient gravity separation equipment developed and improved based on the stratification law of the jigging bed layer theory, built upon traditional jigging machines. Its pulsating curve is toothed, with the upward water flow faster than the downward flow: shorter rising time and longer descending time. It overcomes the defects of the sine wave pulsating curve jigging machine, such as equal rising and descending water flow and action times, enhancing the looseness of the bed layer, alleviating the suction effect, and allowing heavy mineral particles in the ore to settle fully, significantly improving the separation ratio and recovery rate of the equipment. Compared with the sine wave jigging machine, it respectively improves: Sn 3.01%, W 5.5%, Pb 1.63%, Zn 2.04%; water consumption is reduced by 30%-40%, and the land area is reduced by one-third. The stroke is adjustable, and the stroke can be infinitely adjusted due to the use of electromagnetic adjustable motors for driving. Its performance reaches the advanced level domestically and is one of the more ideal energy-saving gravity separation equipment currently available.
