Application: Large-span structures, large venues, industrial factory buildings
Buckling Restrained Bracing (BRB) consists of core material and external constraint materials without bonding material. Under the action of axial tension and compression forces, the BRB can withstand compressive and tensile yield without experiencing buckling instability, achieving plastic deformation to dissipate seismic energy input.
BRB Bending Restriction Brace Function:
Anti-buckling supports can provide significant lateral stiffness and load-bearing capacity for frame or truss structures, and the structural systems using these supports are widely applied in architectural structures.
BRB Bending Restrained Braced Joints Steel Frame Structural System Seismic Performance
Based on the features conducive to structural installation and seismic repair, as well as the behavior of buckling-restrained bracing, a structural system employing beam-column hinged steel frames to bear vertical loads and buckling-restrained bracing to resist lateral loads is adopted. The elastic and elasto-plastic lateral stiffness of the floor in this structural system is derived. The bilinear model is used to simulate the hysteresis behavior of the buckling-restrained bracing, and the seismic performance, elastic, and elasto-plastic seismic response characteristics of the hinged steel frame structural system with buckling-restrained bracing are analyzed using time-history analysis. The results indicate that under frequent earthquakes, the structural floor displacement response is basically linear, with relatively uniform distribution of inter-story drift angles. Under rare earthquakes, a weak floor phenomenon may occur, but all bracing layers will yield and dissipate energy. Except for the ground floor, the floor shear is mainly carried by the bracing, while the proportion of floor shear carried by the ground floor frame columns increases. The frame beams and columns remain in an elastic state under all levels of earthquakes. The buckling-restrained bracing hinged steel frame structural system exhibits good seismic performance.
