Disassembly and recycling of waste resources is commonly used for parts with low added value; while remanufacturing is often employed for parts with high added value. According to the "Market Prospects and Investment Planning Analysis Report on the Automotive Scrapping Industry" released by the Forward-looking Industry Research Institute, in the first half of 2017, the amount of scrapped motor vehicles recycled and disassembled in China increased compared to the same period of the previous year. From January to June 2017, a total of 759,800 scrapped motor vehicles were recovered and recycled nationwide, a 9.7% increase from the 692.4 thousand vehicles in the first half of 2016.
After a vehicle is water-damaged, should it be directly scrapped or filed for insurance claims? First, many people have a misconception that not all flooded cars can be directly scrapped. Whether a damaged vehicle is scrapped is evaluated by the insurance company's assessment agency. If the vehicle's damage reaches 70% or more of its actual value, such damage is generally considered for scrapping.
If the vehicle is not scrapped in accordance with the process, it will continue to be registered under your name, and you will be unable to proceed. Since you don't have a legitimate vehicle scrapping, there will be many restrictions when purchasing a new car, and it will greatly affect the registration process. In fact, some car owners have said that the cost of scrapping a car is not low, even after receiving subsidies, it's not cost-effective. Moreover, the scrapping process is quite麻烦. That's why many people are reluctant to scrap their unused vehicles, let alone waste their own transportation costs. This also leads to many car owners being too lazy to go to the vehicle administration office for scrapping. Because of this, some car owners may resort to illegal tactics. Some think of transferring the ownership of the scrapped car to elderly individuals, then dealing with it after the transfer. However, this is illegal, and transferring the ownership also requires money. The editor believes that banning car owners from privately handling scrapped vehicles is actually to maintain market stability and prevent some unscrupulous individuals from using car parts for processing and resale, or using car owners' information for illegal activities. Therefore, after a vehicle is scrapped, it's still best to follow the official process. Don't be tempted by a little money and cause yourself unnecessary trouble.
If the vehicle is scrapped, all this information must be disposed of. Many owners think the vehicle is already scrapped, and getting fined for that doesn't seem worth it. At this point, many owners opt to simply discard the vehicle instead of properly scrapping it. Some people come up with what they consider "better" methods, disposing of the vehicle as scrap metal, which is convenient and also brings in some income. Actually, these methods are not advisable. People discarding vehicles arbitrarily not only make the area look untidy but also increase the workload for others.
The start date of the vehicle's usage age is calculated based on the registration date, but for vehicles that have not been registered within 2 years from the date of manufacture, the calculation is based on the manufacture date.
Article 6: Motor vehicles whose nature of use is changed or transferred for registration shall determine the service life and scrapping based on the following relevant requirements:
(1) Conversion between passenger vehicles for operation and non-operation shall be scrapped according to the regulations for passenger vehicles for operation. However, for small and micro passenger vehicles for non-operation and large non-operation sedans converted to passenger vehicles for operation, the cumulative service years shall be calculated based on the formulas listed in Attachment 1 of these regulations, and shall not exceed 15 years.
(II) Interconversion between different types of operational passenger carrying vehicles is subject to strict regulations based on usage years for scrapping.
(3) For small and micro passenger cars for hire and motorcycles that need to be transferred out of their original province, autonomous region, or municipality, they must be scrapped according to stricter regulations based on their years of use.
(4) Vehicles used for transporting cargo, semi-trailers, and those capable of converting between them shall be scrapped in accordance with the regulations for transport trucks and semi-trailers.
