Scraped Vehicle Usage Years: 1. Taxis (Small and Mini) - 8 years; 2. Tourist and Highway Passenger Buses (Large and Medium) - 15 years; 3. Large and Medium Cars Not in Operation - 20 years; 4. Mini Trucks - 12 years; 5. Heavy, Medium, and Light Commercial Vehicles - 15 years
Tourist passenger buses and non-operational passenger vehicles with 9 seats or more are in use for 10 years. After reaching the scrapping standards, if continued use is required, it must be handled according to the current regulations, but the extended service life may not exceed an additional 10 years. Tourist passenger buses that are scrapped are subject to a regular annual inspection 4 times; non-operational passenger vehicles with 9 seats or more that are scrapped are subject to a regular annual inspection 2 times. For vehicles over 15 years old, a regular annual inspection of 4 times will be required starting from the 16th year.
Vehicle Scraping Penalties: If the owner of a motor vehicle detained legally fails to appear before the traffic administration department within 30 days, and after being publicly announced for 3 months still does not come for processing, the detained vehicle will be legally disposed of. According to relevant regulations, for small ordinary cars with 9 seats or fewer, an annual inspection must be conducted on time; the service life for ordinary cars with 10 seats or more is 20 years.
Four situations will necessitate mandatory scrapping: 1. Vehicles that, even after repairs and adjustments, still fail to meet the technical standards for in-service motor vehicles. 2. Vehicles that, after repairs, adjustments, or the implementation of control technologies, still emit excessive pollutants or noise, not meeting the standards for in-service motor vehicles. 3. Vehicles that have not obtained an inspection合格标志 within three consecutive inspection cycles after the expiration of the inspection validity period. 4. Vehicles that have reached a certain period of use and mileage.
