Supersonic Flame Spraying is a novel high-energy flame spraying method, commonly referred to as HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel). Its characteristics include: the flame's flow speed is extremely fast, exceeding the speed of sound, reaching up to 2200 m/s, which is 5 to 10 times faster than the flame flow speed in conventional thermal spraying processes.
Due to its rapid speed, the powder particles carry a strong kinetic energy that impacts the substrate surface, resulting in a coating density of up to 98% to 99.8%, whereas other thermal spray processes can only reach 85% to 95%.
Another benefit of the high speed is that in the instant of particle impact on the matrix, nearly all of the kinetic energy is converted into heat energy, providing particles with another chance to be heated, partially compensating for the insufficient flame stream temperature. The resulting bonding strength is significantly higher, reaching up to 70Mpa-90Mpa.
Supersonic flame spraying has less oxygen in its flame, moderate temperatures, and high flame velocity, effectively preventing oxidation and decomposition of powder coating materials. Therefore, it is particularly suitable for the spraying of carbonization coatings with high wear resistance.
Low in impurities, some designs can achieve residual stress, allowing for thicker coatings to be applied with high efficiency. Application range:
Centrifugal pumps, agricultural machinery, textile industry parts, axial flow pump components, steam boiler and mixer shaft seal rings, etc., repair services; water turbine blades with anti-cavitation and wear-resistant coatings, gas turbine blades, flame筒, transition section high-temperature protective coatings, fan impellers, ball mills, etc., wear-resistant coatings; door cores, door rods, ball valve cores, valve accessories, extruder screws, screw tools, glassware molds, various molds; steel mill process rolls, corrugated rolls, hydraulic plungers, etc.
