As the metallurgical industry continues to develop, the production of high-strength steel becomes feasible. The quality of high-strength structural steel used domestically has improved rapidly and become increasingly stable, with supply channels gradually expanding. This has provided various possibilities for the use of high-strength steel in transmission line towers. High-strength steel can be used in power steel pole towers. The variety of steel materials needed for iron towers has promoted the gradual development of common power steel pipe towers in the field of daily life.
Electric steel pole towers offer various features and are quite practical in terms of technology and economy. The power steel tube towers are increasingly capable of meeting diverse social demands.
Steel poles, also known as steel tube poles or steel tower poles, are increasingly in demand with the development of urban construction and the growing electricity needs. Their applications are widespread, especially in urban areas, central towns, and locations with specific requirements (such as narrow line corridors, aesthetic environmental demands, etc.). Steel poles possess unique advantages that cannot be replaced by other types of poles, making them an indispensable force in power transmission and distribution projects.
Power steel tube tower pole type:
Straight Steel Pipe Tower: Used on the straight sections between line tension towers, primarily bearing vertical and lateral loads, and able to withstand irregular longitudinal forces. Generally consists of a single pole with conductors arranged in a triangular pattern.
Tension Rod Steel Tower: Used at route turns or as required, it can bear greater lateral and longitudinal loads, enhancing the longitudinal strength of the line, limiting the scope of line accidents, and can serve as a tensioning tower for construction and maintenance. It is divided into turn tension rods and straight tension rods, typically in a gate-type configuration, with conductors horizontally arranged and with added guy wires.
Terminal Steel Pipe Tower: Base towers for power plants or transformer stations, commonly using terminal poles with the characteristic of needing to withstand significant longitudinal tension on conductors and ground wires. Typically in a gate shape, with wires horizontally arranged and tension lines added.
Corner Steel Tower: Used at line corner positions, the angle of deflection is determined based on the specific location. The design of the tower's load-bearing capacity is then based on these parameters, as different deflection angles result in varying tensile forces. It is crucial to ensure the tower's safety factor to accommodate these differences.
Electricity steel tube towers are quite material-efficient in manufacturing, and many of the products currently in use are processed from it. The cross-sections of steel tube towers come in circular and other shapes, mainly tailored to customer needs. However, the circular ones have broader applications, mainly due to their even stress distribution and the ability to convey more fluid.
The electric steel tube tower is also particularly convenient to use; it can be operated in any environment with electricity, offering superior performance compared to ordinary steel poles.
The small footprint of steel pole towers is a major advantage. Traditional transmission towers and guyed towers have the drawback of occupying a large area. However, under the current market economy conditions, land prices continue to rise, making it increasingly difficult to allocate land for transmission, and investment is growing. Moreover, in some areas like city center districts, it is impossible to build electric towers. This is where steel poles become the preferred choice for transmission construction. Steel poles have a small footprint, generally about 1/3 of a self-supporting tower, and their top dimensions are much smaller than those of a tower, requiring a narrower airway. Therefore, steel poles can usually meet various environmental requirements, save on land costs, so it is still recommended for those in need to choose steel tube towers for power transmission.
