Shipper pays destination duties and taxes To further facilitate the export process of express deliveries, DHL can arrange for the sender or a third party to cover the duties and taxes incurred at the destination, thereby relieving the recipient of these costs. As long as the sender requests that duties, taxes, or other customs fees be paid outside of the destination country or region, payment can be settled with the sender or a third party.
Special Pickup and Delivery: If you require shipping or delivery of unconventional cargo, we can arrange for a dedicated vehicle for pickup or delivery.
We recommend purchasing high-value or personal goods insurance for express shipments to ensure coverage for potential loss or damage. Additionally, you can purchase express value insurance based on the value of your goods, providing enhanced peace of mind.

The DHL Express Guangzhou gateway has sequentially launched a series of facility and route upgrade projects, including establishing a dedicated air express collection area at Baiyun International Airport, expanding the land-side cargo warehouse, and increasing the frequency of flights to the Americas. These upgrades will further enhance operational capabilities, improve transit efficiency, ensure sufficient capacity, elevate the quality of service to new heights, and provide robust support for cross-border e-commerce brands venturing into the global market. A responsible person from DHL Express Southern Region gateway stated, "Over the past decade, the business environment at the Guangzhou airport gateway has consistently improved, with booming import and export businesses. Thanks to this, the company's business in Guangzhou has maintained a growth momentum, and we have continuously invested in expanding infrastructure. Since the operation began in 2006, DHL Express Southern Region Guangzhou gateway has undergone five phases of expansion and renovation. Currently, the area is over four times the size of the original, and the cargo handling capacity has increased by more than 20 times. Focusing on the vibrant vitality of Guangzhou's foreign trade and the immense potential of cross-border e-commerce, the company hopes to add more momentum to the global expansion of 'Guangzhou goods' and to facilitate international logistics channels through this series of supporting projects." To further enhance the efficiency of cross-border e-commerce goods handling and better meet the growing logistics needs, with strong support from the airport group, in early October, DHL Express officially launched the air express collection area at the cross-border e-commerce handling center of the International 1 cargo station at Baiyun Airport, becoming the first enterprise to have a dedicated air express collection area there. This handling center is the largest cross-border e-commerce handling center at Baiyun Airport, with a floor area of approximately 7,800 square meters. The air express collection area of DHL Express covers more than one-fifth of the total area, equipped with 4 dedicated security inspection collection automatic conveyors, 8 automatic weighing devices, and can support the simultaneous assembly of 8 aviation containers, doubling the air cargo handling capacity. The launch of the dedicated collection area also accelerates the progress of the "9610" declaration model rapid switching project, bringing a comprehensive enhancement in operational efficiency and service quality. In addition, the expansion project of the export land-side warehouse at the DHL Express Guangzhou gateway was recently completed. This expansion has nearly tripled the land-side warehouse area, equipped with an automatic sorting conveyor line, which improves sorting efficiency by nearly a factor of two compared to traditional lines, and achieves physical separation of the old and new operation sites at the Guangzhou gateway, meeting both anti-epidemic and customs supervision requirements. It can also serve as a backup, achieving the "1+1>2" effect in comprehensive operational capabilities, providing clients with more compliant, stable, and efficient service guarantees. In November 2021, DHL Express Guangzhou gateway opened a direct cargo flight to Cincinnati, USA, and increased the frequency of this route to 4 flights per week in February and April this year, with the cumulative weight of exported goods exceeding 10,000 tons. This route will be further intensified in the near future. After intensification, the weekly flights will increase to 7, bringing over 600 tons of weekly capacity, providing more adequate space and capacity guarantees, as well as more efficient transit services for export goods in the South China region.
