The theoretical basis for wind tunnel experiments is the principle of flow similarity. Due to limitations such as wind tunnel size, structure, material, model, and experimental gas, achieving complete similarity with real conditions in wind tunnel experiments is impossible. Typically, wind tunnel experiments are only partial similarity simulations. Therefore, before the experiment, simulation parameters and the experimental plan should be determined based on the actual content, and suitable wind tunnels and models should be selected. The design and manufacture of the model are crucial for wind tunnel experiments. The model should meet the following requirements: shape similar to the actual geometry or meet the needs of the research problem (such as simulating internal flow); size to ensure the required airflow conditions around the model; surface conditions (such as smoothness or roughness, temperature, artificial boundary layer transition measures, etc.) appropriate to the research problem; sufficient strength and rigidity, with the method of supporting the model having a negligible or correctable impact on the experimental results; meeting the requirements of the testing instruments; and ease of assembly and disassembly. Additionally, certain experiments have special requirements for stiffness and mass distribution. The material of the model is usually high-strength wood or reinforced plastic in low-speed wind tunnels, carbon steel, alloy steel, or high-strength aluminum alloy in high-speed and hypersonic wind tunnels. Some experiments may also use other materials as needed. Models are typically scaled-down, but can also be full-sized, and sometimes can be locally amplified to meet certain requirements. For objects with geometric symmetry, a model simulating half of the actual object can be made using its symmetry.

The working principle of inflatable sealing rings: In their natural state, the expandable part of the inflatable sealing ring is retracted within the concave groove of the sealing door. When the equipment requires sealing, air is injected into the sealing ring bladder through the inlet and exhaust ports. The sealing ring bladder deforms under the internal pressure, with the concave center portion expanding outward to tightly contact another sealing surface, thereby achieving the sealing effect. To release the sealed state, air is then expelled through the inlet and exhaust ports. The expanded part of the sealing ring automatically retracts back into the groove, returning to its natural state and detaching from the sealing surface.
