I. Equipment Introduction:
Tilted tube settlers are installed with inclined tubes at a 60-degree angle in the sludge suspension layer. Suspended solids, particulate matter, or flocs formed after adding coagulants in the raw water accumulate into a thin sludge layer on the bottom side of the inclined tubes. Relying on gravity, they slide back to the sludge suspension layer and then settle into the sludge collection trough, from where they are discharged through a sludge discharge pipe into a sludge pond for further treatment or comprehensive utilization. The clarified liquid gradually rises to the collection pipe and is discharged, either directly or for reuse.
Tilted tube settlers are designed based on the sedimentation principle of horizontal flow sedimentation tanks to remove fractional particles. By adding tilted tubes within the tank, the hydraulic radius is reduced while increasing the wetted perimeter of the pool's cross-sectional area. Consequently, at the same horizontal flow velocity V, the Reynolds number can be decreased, thereby reducing the retention time and promoting sedimentation. Additionally, the installation of tilted tubes shortens the sedimentation distance for particles, reducing the sedimentation time and improving efficiency.
II. Equipment Features:

5. The packing is in the form of hexagonal honeycomb inclined tube, with materials including polypropylene, glass fiber, etc.
6. Slope pipe inclination is generally 60°, available in 50°, 55°, and other angles as required.
When the length of the inclined tube is one meter, the load is designed at 2~8 m³/m².
8. High adaptability, capable of withstanding significant shock loads and accommodating various water treatment processes.
Section 3: Installation and Usage:
1. When installing slanting pipes, use adhesives or electrical bonding methods for attachment. Parallel plate slanting plates should be secured with supports, while wavy slanting plates are fastened with through-bolts.
Do not install with the tilt direction causing water to directly flow against the slanting pipe (plate).
3. Regular flushing and proper management to reduce blockages caused by excessive biofilm growth.
4. The flat surface of the slanting tube (plate) shall not bear concentrated loads.
5. No open flame is allowed in the area with slanted tubes (plates).
IV. Material of Equipment:
For steel structure resin anti-corrosion equipment, glass fiber or PP honeycomb slanting tube packing is used with a slope angle of 60 degrees, slant length of 1 meter, and an inner diameter of 25 to 80 millimeters to achieve sedimentation effects. There are 4 specifications of slanting tube sedimentation tanks available for user selection, and different flow rates of slanting tube sedimentation tanks can also be designed based on the original wastewater test data. During operation, it is generally necessary to add coagulants.
V. Equipment Usage:
Tangential flow settlers can be used as auxiliary equipment for water purification processes such as air flotation and biochemical treatment, and can also handle various wastewater types individually. For example:
1. The electroplating wastewater contains a mixture of various metal ions, including chromium, copper, iron, etc., with removal rates reaching over 90%. Generally, electroplating wastewater must meet the discharge standards after treatment.
2. Coal mine wastewater treatment can reduce turbidity from 500 to 1500 mg/L to 5 mg/L.
3. Color removal efficiency for dyeing and bleaching wastewater: 70~90%; CODcr removal efficiency: 50~70%.
4. Removal of high organic content in wastewater from industries such as leather and food, achieving a CODcr removal rate of 50~80%.
5. CODcr removal rate for chemical wastewater is 60~70%, color removal rate is 60~90%, and suspended solids meet the discharge standards.
