Function Overview
Operating Principle: The principle of the gas water seal is a device that utilizes the static pressure of water to prevent the flow of gas.
Function:
1. Used for draining condensate accumulated in gas pipeline exhaust pipes.
2. For gas pipeline cutoff.
3. Used for gas check valve.
Process Design
When the U-tube is sealed, the height of the overflow pipe connection must ensure that the U-tube is filled with water, preventing gas from breaking through the water seal and escaping from one side to the other; when the U-tube is opened, the height of the overflow pipe connection must ensure that gas flows freely within the U-tube, avoiding gas from breaking through the horizontal water seal in the trough and leaking out through the overflow spout.
In actual operation, the U-shaped pipe has two operating conditions: gas flow and isolation (the U-shaped pipe is filled with water). Regardless of the operating condition of the gas U-shaped pipe, the valve on the horizontal water tank's inlet pipe remains open, while the operating status check valve and the drain valve are kept closed.
When the U-shaped pipe serves as the gas channel, close the water supply valve on the main water supply pipe, open the water valve on the补水管, and open the liquid level control valve on the U-shaped pipe. At this point, the water flow is as follows:补水管→horizontal water tank outlet riser→U-shaped pipe liquid level control valve→overflow port→overflow water drain pipe. When water overflows from the overflow port, it indicates that the horizontal water tank is full. Adjust the opening of the补水阀 on the water supply pipe according to the amount of overflow water from the overflow port.
When the U-shaped pipe transitions from the gas channel state to the gas-sealing state, i.e., when it is filled with water, close the U-shaped pipe's shutoff liquid level control valve, and open the main supply pipe's water supply valve. The water flow path is: main supply pipe → water supply U-bend → U-shaped pipe → horizontal water tank inlet pipe → horizontal water tank → horizontal water tank outlet riser → U-shaped pipe sealed liquid level overflow pipe → overflow port → overflow water outflow pipe. When water overflows from the overflow port, it indicates that the U-shaped pipe is fully filled with water. At this point, close the water supply valve on the main supply pipe and adjust the opening of the补水管补水阀 (water replenishment valve on the water replenishment pipe) based on the amount of overflow water from the overflow port.
When the U-shaped tube transitions from a gas-separation state to a gas-conduction state, simply open the U-shaped tube's liquid level control valve.
In most cases, the U-shaped pipe of the U-tube gas water seal device is in a gas-conducting operational state. To prevent dust in the gas from clogging the horizontal water trough, it is necessary to inspect and drain periodically. Upon opening the inspection valve, if gas is emitted, it indicates the horizontal water trough is operating normally. If water is found coming out, it means the horizontal water trough is blocked and requires draining: close the lower gate valve, open the drain valve, close the drain valve after draining, open the inspection valve, fully open the water replenishment valve, and perform water replenishment; when water is emitted from the inspection valve, close the inspection valve, open the lower gate valve, reduce the water replenishment valve, and maintain a small overflow of water. Regardless of the operating condition of the U-shaped pipe, since the replenished water does not come into contact with the gas, it completely eliminates toxic gas bubbles produced by water replenishment and the dissolution of harmful substances in the gas in the water. The overflow drainage from the gas water seal device does not produce toxic gas bubbles and harmful wastewater, solving the safety technical issues of toxic gases at the overflow outlet of the U-shaped pipe gas water seal device and the environmental pollution issues associated with the discharge of wastewater.
