Maintaining Aluminum and Wood Doors
Maintain aluminum-wood doors with attention to detail.
1. Gentle Opening and Closing: Do not hang heavy objects on the door panels. Avoid sharp objects from scratching or damaging the door. When opening or closing the door, do not apply excessive force and do not strike the wooden door. Do not unlock with wet hands, nor let corrosive solvents splash onto the wooden door or lock. Avoid using excessive force when unlocking or turning the doorknob.
2. Ensure temperature and humidity environment: During spring and winter, maintain good indoor ventilation to keep the wooden doors in a normal temperature and humidity environment, preventing deformation due to excessive humidity or temperature differences, as well as rust on metal fittings, peeling off of sealant, and detachment of decorative materials. When using electric heaters or other heating equipment in winter, keep them away from the wooden doors to avoid deformation caused by heat.
Three: Maintenance of Hardware Components: For frequently moved hardware parts like hinges and door locks, tighten them immediately if they become loose. If the door lock is not functioning smoothly, add a small amount of graphite powder from a pencil lead as lubricant into the keyhole.
Four, Cleaning stains with soft cloth: When cleaning dirt on the surface of wooden doors (such as fingerprints), you can breathe on the area to moisten it, then wipe with a soft cloth; hard cloths can easily scratch the surface. You can also use a vacuum cleaner regularly for cleaning and dusting. For heavy stains, use a neutral cleaner, toothpaste, or furniture-specific cleaner. Wipe clean immediately after cleaning.
Five: Different materials require different maintenance: When cleaning glass doors, do not let the cleaning solution or water seep into the gaps between the glass strips to prevent warping. Avoid excessive force when wiping glass to prevent damage. In case of glass breakage and large impacts, ensure that a professional is called for repairs. Do not frequently rub the edges of wooden doors to prevent fading and damage to the decorative materials.
Six: Protect Wooden Doors During Painting - When painting walls, cover the wooden doors to prevent the paint from peeling off or fading the decorative materials, which can affect the overall appearance.
