Low-Temperature Water Supply Closed Circuit Cooling Tower System
Section 1: Design Concept for Low-Temperature Closed-Circuit Cooling Tower Water Supply System
In industrial water cooling systems, many water-using equipment require supply water below 32℃. Many customers use chillers for low-temperature water cooling. Chillers, such as screw chillers, have high input power and consume a significant amount of electricity. Based on this, Jiangsu Huita Cooling has developed a low-temperature supply closed-loop cooling tower system. This system automatically switches and controls according to temperature; when the wet-bulb temperature can ensure the outlet water temperature of the closed-loop cooling tower meets customer requirements, it switches to closed-loop cooling tower cooling; when the wet-bulb temperature cannot guarantee the outlet water temperature of the closed-loop cooling tower meets customer requirements, it switches to water-cooled screw chiller cooling, with the closed-loop cooling tower cooling the water-cooled screw chiller. This system has a high degree of automation, and the system's annual electricity consumption saves up to 2/3 of the energy compared to using chillers only.
Section 2: Types of Low-Temperature Closed Circuit Cooling Tower Systems
2.1 Closed-loop Cooling Tower + Water-cooled Screw Chiller Low Temperature Water Supply System
This system is suitable for large water consumption refrigerant users, and requires options such as water-cooled screw chillers, closed-loop cooling tower systems, temperature sensors, electric valves, and PLC control systems. The measurement point is the outlet temperature of the closed-loop cooling tower. When the closed-loop cooling tower can independently meet the customer's outlet temperature requirements, the water-cooled screw chiller unit is turned off, and the closed-loop cooling tower operates independently. When the outlet temperature of the closed-loop cooling tower does not reach the required temperature, the system switches to the water-cooled screw chiller unit, and the closed-loop cooling tower system automatically switches to cool the water-cooled screw chiller unit. The system control is relatively complex. Through case testing, it achieves a 2/3 reduction in energy consumption in Jiangsu throughout the year, and the energy saving will be more significant in northern regions.
2.2 Closed-loop Cooling Tower + Air-cooled Chilled Water System with Low Temperature Water Supply
The system features simple control and space-saving design. Optional components include: air-cooled chillers, closed-loop cooling towers, insulated water tanks, temperature sensors, and PLC (optional). The temperature of the insulated water tank serves as the measurement point. The system automatically switches: when the outlet temperature of the closed-loop cooling tower meets the usage requirements, the chilled water is supplied directly, and the chiller remains stationary; when the outlet temperature of the closed-loop cooling tower does not meet the usage requirements, the cooling water from the closed-loop cooling tower is cooled and mixed by the chiller. This system is suitable for various fields such as injection molding, hydraulic, forging, dynamometers, and has mature applications.
