I. Design Concept

The HBY type single-inlet cross flow closed-loop cooling tower incorporates a more advanced cooling tower design concept, integrating disciplines such as heat transfer, structural engineering, and materials science. It revolutionarily places the cooler at the bottom, allowing for efficient maintenance through inspection passages and inlet grilles. The use of a composite water collector significantly reduces evaporation. The water inlets and outlets are positioned below, facilitating connection to main pipelines. The stepped water collection trays ensure convenient and effective drainage.

II. Working Principle

The working fluid (pure water or other liquids) circulates through the coils of a closed-loop cooling tower. The heat from the working fluid is transferred to the water passing through the coils. Simultaneously, air outside the unit enters from the side through the intake grille, perpendicular to the water flow, cross-flowing through a portion of the water where some evaporates, absorbing heat. The warm, moist air is then exhausted into the atmosphere by the exhaust fan at the top of the cooling tower. The remaining water falls into the bottom sump, where it is recirculated by the pump back to the water distribution system, pre-cooled by the packing material, and then sprinkled back onto the coils.

4. Features of HBY Type Cross Flow Closed Circuit Cooling Towers

The closed-loop tower structure is compact and space-saving; the spray water and air flow laterally, with an optimized combination of excellent heat exchange coils and heat exchange layers, complemented by a wide inlet surface, achieving a concurrent evaporative heat exchange method. This effectively reduces the temperature of the circulating water and improves the heat exchange efficiency.

The cross-flow cooler is located at the bottom, allowing for double-sided maintenance from the intake and inspection channels, making it convenient for later use and maintenance; the low water inlets and outlets facilitate pipeline connection; multiple small fans achieve high-precision control of the outlet water temperature, saving water and energy.
