New Peach Seedling · Guofeng 7 Peach Seedling: I first learned about this name from a short video on Liaoning Satellite TV, where I discovered there's a peach variety called "Guofeng 7" that's quite tasty. Let's get to know the Guofeng 7 peach! On the main branches, leave as many small branches as possible under 5 cm long, cultivate them into short fruit branches or inflorescence-like fruit branches, and prune medium and long fruit branches appropriately. After 3-4 years, the tree shape is basically determined, and the pruning method for the main and lateral branches each year will be the same as the previous year. These peaches mature in late August to early September, with flat, round fruits, flat fruit tips, deep and narrow calyx depression, shallow suture line, symmetrical flesh, and an average single fruit weight of 83.8g, with some large fruits weighing up to 109g. The fruit is well-aligned, with a yellow-green skin that turns purple-black upon ripening and is not easily peeled. The flesh is yellow near the skin, red, firm, crisp, and has a rich flavor; it has a semi-separation kernel, an oblong kernel, and a rough kernel surface.

High humidity is required during the growing period. After thorough watering, cover with a shading net to retain moisture and promote germination. During cold winter temperatures, cover with a film to insulate and aid in germination. The natural pollination rate of the lotus flower is low, so artificial pollination is necessary, performed three times in total. Meanwhile, remove the lotus-like corolla to prevent rotting and affect fruiting. Osmanthus flowers, leaves, fruits, and roots have cooling properties. They are sensitive to cold and flowering becomes difficult below 15°C. The advantages of Guofeng 7 peach seedlings: strong cold resistance, sugar content up to 24 points in inland areas, good productivity, strong adaptability, late-maturing variety with good storage properties. Young trees of this variety grow quickly, with robust growth and semi-spreading tree shape. Combined with summer pruning, a stable productive tree structure can be formed in the same year. They start bearing fruit in 2 years, with good productivity, and the average yield per tree for 3-year-old trees is 13.5 kg.
