Ductile iron pipes are essentially spheroidal cast iron pipes, as spheroidal cast iron pipes possess the inherent properties of iron and the performance of steel, hence the name. In spheroidal cast iron pipes, the graphite exists in a spherical form, generally ranging in size from 6 to 7 grades. The quality requirements call for controlling the spheroidization grade of cast iron pipes at 1-3 levels, with a spheroidization rate of ≥80%. This results in improved mechanical properties of the material itself, retaining the essence of iron and the performance of steel.

Ductile iron pipes are forged using either continuous casting or water-cooled centrifugal forging methods, with the latter being a modern technique. Compared to simple cast iron pipes, water-cooled forging not only enhances corrosion resistance but also boasts high strength, excellent toughness, thin walls, light weight, impact resistance, great bending capabilities, and ease of installation. It has also been successfully implemented in various applications domestically. In many regions of China, ductile iron pipes are used for medium and small diameter pipe connections, employing socket-and-spigot or flanged joints; ductile iron pipes allow for limited angles with superior seismic resistance and sealing properties.

Ductile iron pipes can be classified based on the wall thickness grade coefficient K or the allowable working pressure C. When classified based on the allowable working pressure C, large sizes up to DN1000, gas pipes should be classified based on the wall thickness grade coefficient K. The specific wall thickness and allowable pressure for self-anchoring joints are provided by the manufacturer.

Flexible interface components are designated by multiplying the PFA (Permitted Working Pressure) by 10 and adding the letter 'C'. For instance, if the PFA is 4Mpa, the pressure grade would be 0C.

To prevent damage to ductile iron pipes, asphalt paint coatings or epoxy coatings can be applied. Additionally, aluminosilicate cement coatings, salt cement coatings, and polyurethane coatings can be used, as these coatings can resist erosion from acidic and alkaline components in wastewater. Ductile iron pipes are subject to various factors during use, leading to varying degrees of damage. A cement mortar lining with a special coating can also be used on the interior of the ductile iron pipes, which enhances their corrosion resistance and serves to protect water quality (the cement sand lining of general ductile iron pipes should be inspected by the health and quarantine department before use). 1. The selection of ductile iron pipe materials should be based on the specific conditions of the installation location, choosing the interface form between straight pipes and fittings. 2. Rubber rings are usually made of materials such as NBR, SBR, EPDM, etc. 3. Coating selection: Choose an appropriate coating based on the internal and external conditions during use. The new ductile iron pipes available have internal coatings of epoxy resin, polyurethane internal and external coatings, and PE film coatings, etc. Detailed understanding of their properties is required when selecting.

Ductile iron pipes with cracks can be repaired using a cast iron defect repair machine, but not all issues can be resolved with cast iron defect repair equipment. If the pipe cracks due to excessive temperature during heat treatment during casting, or if there is no appropriate addition of effective components to prevent over-hardening and maintain appropriate brittleness during casting, the crack may occur. If the performance of the pipe does not meet the required standards, especially if the pressure it withstands is significant, it will need to be remade. The most common leakages are usually at pipeline joints. There are many reasons, and the main factors analyzed are as follows:

1. It's damage at the joint of pipes and fittings, or the fittings themselves. Solution: Minor leaks can be焊接 treated, while severe leaks require being completely covered with cement for protective treatment.

2. Ductile iron pipes are not properly seated or the installation angle exceeds the standard. Solution: Check the installation line printed at the socket for confirmation of proper installation as per requirements.

3. The socket of the ductile iron pipe is elliptical, and the gasket does not provide a sealing effect. Solution: Replace with qualified products or perform calibration.

4. The ball cast iron pipe has flipped over the gasket, causing damage and rendering it ineffective for sealing. Solution: Reinstall correctly.

5. Nodular iron pipe's socket has debris adhering, not cleaned properly, resulting in the rubber ring failing to seal. Solution: Reinstall correctly.

6. The quality of the gasket is poor; it cannot recover its elasticity after being compressed and fails to provide a seal. Solution: Replace with a qualified product. If replacement is not possible, use a cast iron hub fitting (for the socket).

7. Radial dimensions of pipes or O-rings are not up to standard, or they are not compatible with each other, resulting in poor sealing. Solution: Replace with qualified products.

Shanxi Jinsuntong Ductile Iron Pipe Manufacturer Installation Points: 1. Clean pipe ends: Remove all debris from the socket and clean it thoroughly. 2. Clean and apply the gasket: Clean the adhesive material on the gasket, bend it into a "plum blossom" or "8" shape, and insert it into the socket groove. Press the entire gasket with your hand or use a rubber mallet to ensure it is evenly seated without any twists or bends. 3. Apply lubricant: Coat the inner surface of the installed socket gasket and the outer surface of the spigot with lubricant, ensuring the area beyond the spigot line is evenly coated. 4. Lower the pipe: Lower the pipe to the bottom of the groove according to specifications, typically using manual or mechanical methods. 5. Install equipment: Position the prepared equipment, ensuring that the cleaned pipe sections are not re-contaminated during installation. 6. Push the pipe into the socket: To make insertion easier and smoother, first place the spigot into the socket and press it onto the gasket inside. Secure the wire rope and come-along, then tighten it. At the same time, allow someone to shake the pipe left and right at the socket end until the spigot is fully inserted. Leave a gap of about 2mm between the socket and spigot, ensuring the distance from the outer edge of the socket to the gasket is consistent. 7. Ductile Iron Pipe Fittings Installation: Due to the light weight of the pipe fittings, using a single wire rope can easily cause misalignment, leading to the gasket being squeezed and not fitting properly. To avoid this, use two come-alongs pulling in parallel to install the fittings evenly, preventing the gasket from being squeezed. Alternatively, extend the pipe fitting and install using a single wire rope. Ductile Iron Pipe Coating: 1. Asphalt Paint Coating: Used for gas transmission pipelines. Preheating the pipe before painting can improve the adhesion of the asphalt paint and accelerate drying. 2.
