The sequence for lightning protection device testing can be carried out first by inspecting the external lightning protection devices, followed by the internal lightning protection devices.
External lightning protection devices include air terminals (lightning rods, lightning strips, lightning wires, lightning mesh), down conductors, grounding devices, equipotential bonding of metallic doors and windows, and large metal objects on the roof.
Internal lightning protection devices include various surge protectors (SPDs), equipotential bonding of indoor electronic equipment, equipotential bonding of elevator machine rooms, pressure equalization rings, and safe distances for electronic equipment. After the external and internal lightning protection devices have been inspected, each test result should be filled into the original record of lightning protection device safety inspection as the original test record.
