Introduction to Metal Bohl Ring

Metalic Baumeister ring packing was developed by the German BASF company in the 1940s based on the Raschig ring packing. It is made by stamping metal thin plates, with two rows of windows featuring inwardly extending tongue leaves on the ring wall. Each row has five tongue leaves bending into the ring, pointing towards the center, almost overlapping at the center. The positions of the upper and lower rows of windows are staggered, and the total area of the openings is generally about 35% of the entire ring area. Due to the many windows on the ring wall, the distribution of gas and liquid within the packing layer and its mass transfer performance are significantly improved compared to the Raschig ring.

Metal Bellows Ring significantly improves upon the Raschig Ring by incorporating two rows of windows with inwardly extending tongues on the ring wall. This structure enhances gas-liquid separation, fully utilizing the inner surface of the ring. Compared to the Raschig Ring, the throughput can be increased by over 50% while reducing pressure by half.
