It can be powered by battery or phantom power.

The AT899 is a superminiature condenser microphone designed to be worn on performers' clothing, ties, or hair accessories, providing superior sound quality without hindering appearance. When wearing it on a tie, please position the microphone holder about 150mm below the neck. To avoid noise caused by clothing touching the microphone, ensure the holder does not come into contact with other clothing.
The individual and dual microphone brackets can be easily swapped between all bases. To reduce wind noise when the AT899 microphone is used for close-talk recording, please use the included windscreen. This also helps to reduce wind noise in the recording environment. Additionally, please use the included microphone head protector to prevent accidentally dropping metal fragments or iron shavings into the microphone head.
The AT899 microphone requires operation with 11V to 52V phantom power or 1.5V AA batteries. When using phantom power, batteries are not required to be installed.
The XLRM connector on the power supply module features a low-impedance balanced output. The microphone audio signal is output via the 2nd and 3rd pins of the XLR male connector, while the 1st pin is connected to ground (shield). The output phase will be set to positive phase level on the 2nd pin.
